The “Ganxet” bean is a legume typical from the Vallès region presenting a soft peel, a delicate flavour, a creamy texture and not floury at all. It owes its name to its shape, which reminds of a kidney or a crochet hook (“ganxet” in Catalan).
“Ganxet” beans are a typical ingredient of the traditional Catalan cuisine and taste well when seasoned with some oil or eaten with some bacon fat or Catalan “botifarra”.
